AIR (Artist in Residence)

Hovinkartano is an old manor house situated in the south of Finland and surrounded by large natural garden area and forests. Nearest lake is at 400 metres distance. Our accommodation buildings are 200 years old country houses, but modern toilets and showers are in a separate building. We have six different exhibition galleries, and they can also be used as studios. Artists may organize their own exhibitions while staying here if agreed in advance.

We can accommodate 10-15 persons at the same time so we are also happy to accept groups of artists at the same time. We help the artists to find local art and other shops, we try to organize trips to nearby art museums and other attractions. During the season we also organize a lot of cultural events in our Centre (music, theatre, seminars, lessons…)
